Homestead Knitters

On the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 3:00 pm, our Homestead Knitters group meets to knit, crochet, and socialize. Beginners and advanced knitters are all welcome.



Library Closure – 11/24

  The Carnegie Library of Homestead will be closed Thursday, November 24th in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We will reopen as usual on Friday, November 25th.



Library Closure – 11/12

The Carnegie Library of Homestead will be closed on Saturday, November 12th for the Steel Valley Hall of Fame. Services will resume on Monday, November 14th.



Spinosaurus Encounter!

The  Carnegie Museum of Natural History will be presenting their “Spinosaurus Encounter" show here at the library. This educational and entertaining performance introduces the audience to Spiny, the museum’s 10 foot tall 15 foot long mechanical Spinosaurus dinosaur puppet. Call 412-462-3444 to RSVP.



Libations at the Library – 10/08

Join us on Saturday, October 8 from 7:30pm to 10:00pm as the Friends of the Carnegie Library of Homestead once again host Libations at the Library. This is an event you won’t want to miss. Munhall Borough’s Annual Community Day

Please join us at Munhall Borough's Annual Community Day on Saturday September 17.  11am-7pm - rain or shine. Kickoff the event with our annual Junior Olympics, sponsored by Lloyd Insurance Group. Library Closure – 07/04

The Carnegie Library of Homestead will be closed on Monday, July 4th to celebrate the Independence Day holiday. Services will resume on Tuesday, July 5th.



Kindergarten Prep

Wednesdays at 11:30, we'll be offering a special "Kindergarten Prep" edition of story time. We'll practice the skills that young children entering Kindergarten, Headstart, and Pre-K programs need to succeed. We'll hear stories to develop literacy, do crafts to develop motor skills, and repeat rhymes to develop phonemic awareness. For children ages two to five.



Summer Reading

It's Summer Reading at the Carnegie of Homestead!  Read seven books and be entered to win prizes. Fill out a reading log at the library. Attend free educational events all summer long.
