The library just got access to about 7 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists (Beyonce, anyone).
The service is called Freegal, and the collection has music from over 28,000 labels with music that originates in over 80 countries. Best part? You don’t have to download any particular software (but their app is available for both Android and iPhones), and the music files are DRM free.
Are you more of a YouTube music listener? The take heart, because Freegal offers an ever-growing collection of music videos, all of them available for download.
Interested? Here are the basics:
– Songs and videos are available for download to your device without DRM.
– Each library card number has an allotment of downloads. Basically, you have 3 download spots per week. Each song is 1 spot, each video is 2 spots. They don’t roll over from week to week.
– Apps are available here for Android (Google Play) and Apple App Store.
