Come to the Carnegie Library of Homestead on November 6th at 6pm for a visit from romance author Gwyn Cready.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Cready attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a BA in English Literature in 1983. She followed that with an MBA in marketing (also from Chicago). For twenty years she worked in brand management for a pharmaceutical company, but a turning point came with her sister’s unexpected death at age 31; that tragedy caused her “to realize that one doesn’t get forever to chase one’s dreams and if there was something I wanted to do, I should do it.” Within a month Cready had begun work on her first manuscript, Blackmuir Fires.
… And she hasn’t stopped writing. Since then, Cready has authored several books, including: Tumbling Through Time, Seducing Mr. Darcy, Flirting with Forever, Aching for Always, and A Novel Seduction (her first foray into contemporary romance as well as men with kilts, both of which she found eminently satisfying); she was the recipient of the 2009 RITA Award for Best Paranormal Romance; she’s even been called “the master of time travel romance.”
