Summer Reading

  • Your child can sign up for Summer Reading at the library and get a Summer Reading bag, full of stickers, coupons, and a book log to record everything they read this summer. Turn in the book log, and be entered to win prizes! Register at the library. 

 

  • We’re also holding special classes all summer with instructors from the Children’s Museum, the Natural History Museum, The Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre! All for free as part of Summer Reading.

 

  • CARNEGIE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY: Learn about live animals and dinosaur fossils.

  • PITTSBURGH BALLET THEATRE: The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre reads Swan Lake at Story Time.

  • CHILDREN’S MUSEUM, The MAKESHOP: Develop engineering skills and enhance creativity.

  • PITTSBURGH CENTER FOR CREATIVE REUSE: Upcycle old materials into new creations.

  • RAY OWEN: Grammy nominated folk singer, performing fun and educational songs for children.

  • END of SUMMER PARTY: Steel pan band “Rhythm ‘n’ Steel” will put on a show to celebrate the end of Summer Reading.
